Voice of America is the largest U.S. international broadcaster, sharing news in more than 40 languages with approximately 236 million people each week. The organization is committed to providing accurate, truthful accounts of current events.
Interns work in an interesting, exciting environment in areas such as the web, social media, television, and radio.
Eight internships are currently available:
- Language Programming, Media Lab, and Senior Management Offices: research and produce daily audio and video programs.
- Learning English: write news stories using limited vocabulary for English learners.
- TV Technical Operations: support TV operations (lighting, audio, camera control, etc.).
- TV to Africa: write daily show descriptions for Facebook pages, assist in field shoots, and edit various projects.
- VOA Newsroom: assist with news, feature stories, and special reports.
- Media Asset Management Branch: assist with media collection (documenting, researching, etc.).
- Music Time in Africa: help with program that features African music in combination with interviews and news.
- Border Crossings: assist with the daily music program that features listeners’ favorite songs and requests.

Interns are unpaid, but college credit is available.

Qualifications:
Enrolled at accredited college or university (exceptions for outstanding high school students).
Other requirements vary by department.
Deadlines:
