Are you an undergraduate or graduate student with a passion for the arts looking for experience in research and analysis? Apply for a volunteer internship with the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). As an intern, you can support grant programs, evaluations, or research on art-related topics or you can pursue your own independent study. Unpaid interns are accepted throughout the year in many NEA offices.
The NEA is an independent federal agency that funds and supports Americans in participating in the arts and developing their creativity. It supports arts education, celebrates America’s diverse culture, and promotes equal access to the arts in every community.
Apply by submitting a cover letter, time available, interest areas, and if you will be earning academic credit. Also indicate experience and typing ability. Letters of recommendation, references, and college transcripts are suggested. Submit your application at least 4–6 weeks before the date you wish to begin your internship.
