American Indian College Fund: Students and Alumni
Are you a tribal youth interested in finding scholarships for college? Then this is a great opportunity for you!
The American Indian College Fund works to increase the number of American Indians who hold college degrees. With only 14% of American Indians holding a college degree, the fund empowers more than 4,000 Native students each year on the road to higher education through scholarships and support to local communities.
The fund offers two scholarships:
- The Full Circle Scholarship is for Alaska Native and American Indian students at tribal colleges and universities, as well as all nonprofit and accredited schools.
- The Tribal College and University (TCU) Scholarship is for Native students at tribal colleges and universities.
Full Circle scholarships are accepted every year from January 1 to May 31. TCU scholarships are awarded on a semester basis. Applications open on January 1 and August 1; deadlines differ according to the tribal college or university.
Applicants must submit a digital photo, proof of tribal affiliation, and a transcript. In addition, applicants must be a U.S. citizen, enrolled in a certificate/associate/bachelor’s/graduate program, enrolled full time (Full Circle applicants only), registered as a recognized tribe or descendant of at least one parent or grandparent who is an enrolled tribal member, and have a minimum 2.0 cumulative grade point average.
