Do you want to work with FEMA officials throughout the year to complete national projects which make communities safer, better prepared, and more resilient? Do you want to have the chance to travel to Washington, DC during the summer for an Annual Summit to hear from national preparedness leaders, meet FEMA officials, collaborate with other teens, participate in team building activities, and learn about project planning? FEMA’s national Youth Preparedness Council (YPC) seeks out young leaders who are interested in supporting disaster preparedness and making a difference in their communities by completing disaster preparedness projects nationally and locally.
Students in 8th—11th grade can apply to the YPC between February 19th and March 31st, 2019 to join other teens from across the country. Interested students should visit the website to apply with a written or video application, letters of recommendation, and school transcripts. For more information on FEMA’s YPC, visit the YPC website.
