The American Red Cross provides disaster assistance, support, and relief. From house fires to natural disasters, it provides people with clean water, hot meals, safe shelter, and more in both domestic and international contexts.
The American Red Cross offers a unique opportunity for youth to serve on the American Red Cross National Youth Council, which represents youth volunteers. Council members advocate for youth involvement across the national organization, advise leadership on policies involving youth, provide information to other youth through newsletters, and more.
The National Youth Council is a 2-year commitment for youth 16–24 years old who have at least 2 years of experience with the national organization and who desire to further the Red Cross mission. The council has received many awards, including the 2007 Together for Humanity Award, and is a terrific opportunity for youth who want to have a real impact in the American Red Cross.
