Here is Your Chance to Join the YE4C Editorial Board [Apply by 10/4!]

Are you between 16 and 24 years old? Are you interested in helping create content for 16-24-year-olds? If so, we invite you to apply for a spot on the Youth Engaged 4 Change (YE4C) Editorial Board. As an Editor, you would help us address the issues that youth care the most about! YE4C Editorial Board members write, develop, and review content for the YE4C website, social media, and other digital media (like podcasts and videos).
YE4C Editorial Board Role
The YE4C Editorial Board includes young people, ages 16-24, from around the USA. They help to ensure that the content on the YE4C website and social media is interesting and helpful to the YE4C audience. YE4C Editorial Board members join virtual meetings to discuss issues that matter to young people. They also work alone and in teams to review content and to create content for youth. Tasks of the YE4C Editorial Board may include:
- reviewing and selecting resources to be added to the YE4C website
- keeping up-to-date on concerns and perspectives of youth (for example, by communicating with other youth offline or online)
- sharing creative ideas for developing new content
- sharing creative ideas for strengthening existing content
- reviewing written, audio, and video content and giving helpful feedback
- sharing YE4C content and opportunities with youth in their networks (for example, sharing opportunities on social media)
- creating original content for the YE4C website or social media
- participating in two or more meetings each month
YE4C Editorial Board members are encouraged to use their personal interests, skills, and life experiences to make YE4C better. Visit this link to learn more about the experiences and contributions of former Editors.
YE4C Editorial Board Time Commitment
YE4C Editorial Board members are expected to spend a minimum of 5 hours per week in their roles. This includes time spent participating in meetings, reviewing content, sharing ideas to improve YE4C, and anything else related to their roles on the YE4C Editorial Board. Some Editors may choose to spend more than 5 hours per week in their roles, but this is not required. YE4C Editorial Board members are encouraged to choose the time commitment that works best for them.
This is the second round of the YE4C Editorial Board and it will last for 10 months, beginning in October 2020 and ending in August 2021.
Benefits of Joining the YE4C Editorial Board
Being a part of the YE4C Editorial Board is a great opportunity to meet other young leaders from around the country. YE4C Editorial Board members have significant influence on the content on the YE4C website and social media. In many cases, Editors also create content for the YE4C website and social media. This process gives Editors a chance to improve their skills while helping young people across the USA.
Editors also get to learn more about how the federal government works. The next group of the YE4C Editorial Board will have opportunities to meet with leaders in the federal government and learn more about how to improve your life and make a difference for others.
All YE4C Editorial Board members will receive up to $1,000 in the form of a gift card or check at the end of their term. Each Editor also receives YE4C swag as well as a write-up on the YE4C Blog.
