Behind the Podcast: Exploring a Career in Counseling
We are excited to share a series of podcasts with you about the different paths that youths can take when transitioning into adulthood. These episodes were recorded by young people --Dexter, Lexandra, Jonah, Allie, Carter, and Sarah-- who interviewed peers and adults alike on their various experiences. Check out this episode by Sarah and let us know what you think!
In this episode, Sarah interviews Carol Burrows about her career as a professional mental health counselor. They discuss how the path to choosing your career can be convoluted sometimes. In the end, Carol affirms that a career path is constantly changing and to always have new goals.

Sarah enjoyed her first podcast recording, as she says, “I really enjoyed it and I definitely want to record another one.” The topic of a career in mental health was critical to her as she, “had a lot of questions about the career I want to pursue, and I was hoping to help others to find the answers they might be looking for.” Furthermore, she is hoping that listeners of this podcast may “gain an interest in mental health careers” because they are integral to the betterment of society.
