The Youth Engaged 4 Change (YE4C) Editorial Board is a group of 16–24-year-olds who create content for the YE4C website, YE4C Instagram, YE4C Facebook, and YE4C Radio. The Editorial Board creates content that is informative, empowering, and relatable to young people across the United States.
The board helps to ensure content on the YE4C platform aligns with the priorities of the Interagency Working Group on Youth Programs (IWGYP). Some members work with federal staffs on content or other issues relevant to IWGYP. Activities may include:
- Developing content based on individual interests or as directed by IWGYP
- Reviewing and selecting resources to be added to the YE4C website
- Staying current on the concerns and perspectives of youth (e.g., by communicating with other youth)
- Providing constructive feedback to fellow board members on their written, audio, and visual content
- Sharing YE4C content and opportunities with youth in their networks (e.g., on social media)
- Working with federal agencies on content development (e.g., for youth.gov or YE4C)
- Presenting to staff from federal agencies working to improve youth outcomes
The board will last for 9 months, from November 2022 to August 2023. Meetings occur on the second Thursday of the month from 8 p.m. ET to 9:30 p.m. ET and the fourth Thursday from 4 p.m. ET to 5:30 p.m. ET. Board members will receive honoraria for up to $1,000, YE4C swag, and a write-up on the YE4C Blog.
We strive to create a board that reflects the diverse experiences of 16–24-year-olds nationwide. We welcome applicants of all races, ethnicities, gender identities, sexual orientations, geographic areas, religious backgrounds, physical abilities, mental abilities, socioeconomic status, academic backgrounds, and life experiences.
We encourage members to draw on their interests, skills, and life experiences to inform content that will inspire and drive change in their lives and in their communities.

Here are a few quotes from recent YE4C Editorial Board members:

“I’ve been making my own content for a while as an advocate, a youth advocate, and an autistic advocate, but it's really been invaluable learning, like just a true editing process: being able to pull yourself back and just look at what you're making and make sure it's the best it can be. I'm gonna be able to take that with me for my entire life, and I can't say how much I appreciate it.” -Amber Woodside

“This is one of the best groups I've ever been a part of in my life… I love working with the [editorial board] and getting mentoring one on one. I really enjoyed the editing process. I've never done that before… I'll have so many memories that will come with me.” - Apeksha Adhikari

“Never in my life have I been in such a supportive group. Someone always told me… ‘Yes, that's possible,’ or ‘Yes, you can do it.’ It really helped me pursue my passions and also expand my horizon.” -Jonathan He
